An Experienced Library and IT Professional
Director - Vicky Price Consulting
Vicky has worked in a variety of library and IT service delivery roles across the NHS and Higher Education sectors. Delivering services at national, regional and individual organisation level, Vicky has first-hand experience of specifying, procuring and deploying systems of varying size and organisational complexity.
Following a Masters degree from the Information School at the University of Sheffield, Vicky began her professional career working for JISC, providing support for a range of data services to UK HEIs, including zetoc, the NLN Learning Object Repository and BIOME, part of the Resource Discovery Network.
A move to NHS followed, heading the Library Services function at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, taking the service through a refurbishment, reclassification project and LMS implementation. Then came an impactful period working in the development team at the National Library for Health, managing the implementation of NHS England Link Resolver, supporting the development of the Health Databases Advanced Search (HDAS) and early work on the NHS Evidence search engine.
After a period of time working in IT Programme delivery roles at East Midlands Strategic Health Authority – supporting the deployment of National Programme for IT systems to NHS Trusts and delivering an informatics workstream to support the Health Visitor Implementation Programme – Vicky returned to Higher Education and libraries, leading the Digital Library Support team at the University of Nottingham, managing discovery, library management and research repository systems. Most recently, Vicky held the role of Service Manager for Workplace Computing, managing endpoint computing services, in particular the role out and adoption of Microsoft 365.
Vicky brings this knowledge and experience to her consulting role; helping organisations to plan for and implement system change and encouraging user adoption of new services.
